Meant to Be (Part Twenty-six)

Dedicated to the anony who doesn't understand arabic, but is reading anyways..

"Come oooooooon!!" I shouted.

She came still fiddling with the shirt and trying to make it smaller so that it can
fit her.

"M7am..." She trailed off when she looked in my direction.

She looked down quickly, and blushed deeply. I chuckled as I got up and went to her.

"Na3am Shai..." I said imitating her.

"Nothing.. yalla lets go.." She said, still not looking up.

"Wait .." I said as I pulled her closer to me.

She was wearing my shirt with shorts that almost covered her knees. I rolled up her sleeves, and tied the sides of the shirt in a knot so that it seemed more fitting.

"I'm an expert, right" I said as I admired my work, or maybe I was eyeing her figure, I don't really know.

"Yalla.." She said, running away from me.

"Where do you want to swim, in the pool or the ocean?" I asked.

"Ocean of course!!" She said excitedly.

"Wait here so I can check out the place first" I told her.

"Why?" She replied questioningly.

"I want to check if anyone can see us from here" I said, not realizing how stupid I sounded.

"It's a private island!" She replied confused.

"Fine.. I need to check if it's safe first, Just stay here .." I said as I headed to the shore.

I felt silly, but I had to look around first. The island was small, basically a house, two huts, a pool, something that looks like a dock, and the shore. The other islands were far away, almost invisible, and the water was clear.

I went back to get her.

"Yalla.. the coast is clear" I said laughing. She rolled her eyes and tried to get past me. "No way you are going anywhere without me.." I said as I carried her on my back and ran to the water.

"M7ammaaaaad!!" She screamed as she held on tighter.

"Do you know how to swim?" I asked as we got closer to the water.

"Don't throw me.." She replied scared.

"Just answer me.. do you?" I asked again.

"I don't know.. it's been more than 3 years since I last swam.." she replied.

"Ok then.. I'm going to test your swimming skills" I said as I prepared to throw her.

"No no no no.. " She said, holding on with a strength I didn't think she had in her.

I turned her body so that she was facing me, with her still holding on to my neck.
She had her eyes closed tightly, and lips pursed in a cute way.

"Shai5a.." I said holding my laugh.

"Noooo.." She replied, burying her face in my chest.

I sat down, with her still hugging me; she involuntarily wrapped her legs around my
torso securing herself. I muffled my laugh and waited for her to realize that I'm not going to throw her.

After a while, she opened her eyes and looked around dazed.

"Did you throw me in the water?" She asked surprised.

I chuckled at her awed face.

"No I didn't.." I said as I looked at her squinting her eyes.

"Oh.." She said, as she looked at me, and almost jumped off embarrassed from the position she was in.

I laughed as I pulled her up.

"Show me your skills.." I said as we got in the water.

"What skills?" She asked confused.

"Kissing skills of course" I said, teasingly.

She looked around, wanting to run away somehow.

"Shai5a.. swim for god's sake.." I said, rolling my eyes.

She swam, quite skillfully, but she needed more practice. Her legs would go up to high sometimes, and she needed to stop to breath because she couldn't do it properly while swimming.

"I sucked, right?" She asked when she came back.

"No.. you were great .. watch me now.." I said as I plunged.

His strong muscled fought the waves with such a skill, that I felt ashamed from my swimming skills. Even when he was swimming I can see his muscles bulging with every movement.

He wasn't one of those huge, bulky guys that looked ugly; he was perfectly sculpted.
He swam around me, splashing water everywhere. He tickled my legs while he was underwater, and I laughed as I dived to annoy him too. Neither one of us was wearing the swimming goggles, so we came up quickly rubbing our eyes.

I opened my eyes and looked around, and he was still rubbing his eyes. Water droplets were leaving his hair rapidly, and falling on his manly shoulders. There was something about him, that was cute today. Maybe it was the contrast between his muscular arms and the way he was rubbing his eyes like a child that just got shampoo in them.

"There is something in my eye.." He complained as he rubbed harder.

"It's just water.. stop rubbing it, it's not good.." I said.

"No it's not water.. take a look.." He said as he came closer.

"Ma ashoof.." I said, standing on my tiptoes but still not being able to look into his eyes properly.

He glanced down at me, and chuckled as he leaned down.

"It's not funny.. just stay still.." I said as I looked into his eyes, his big black eyes.

How long I took to break the spell that they had on me is still a mystery. I was lost, so close, yet so far away in reality. With trembling fingers, I rubbed his eyes gently, causing the eyelash that was caught in there to appear.

"It's an eyelash.." I said quietly, not wanting him to move away.

"Thank god.. I thought you were lost on the way or something.. you took ages.." He said ironically. "And it's still bothering me" He complained again.

"Well, put your fingers, and take it out!" I said.

"You do it.." He said.

"A5af.." I replied.

"Just do it.. please!" He said, almost almost almost, pouting.

"Fine.." I said.

Gently, I took it out, and showed it to him.

"You're my savior!" He said as he hugged me and twirled me around.

I laughed and felt like hugging him back, but decided against it.

"Time for swimming lessons.." He said as he put me down.

"Am I that bad?" I said, pretending to look hurt.

"No, but I want you to be a professional swimmer.." He said.

"Where did you learn how to swim anyways.." I asked.

"Well, I used to go swimming in our chalet every weekend before I travelled abroad, and in the States I used to go swimming in my gym a lot, and I go diving sometimes
too.." He replied.

"You go to the gym?" I said involuntarily, and felt stupid almost directly afterwards.

"Isn't it obvious?" He said as he pointed at his chiseled abs.

"Let's swim.." I said, trying to change the subject.

"Lie on your stomach.. ya3ny float on the water" He said, and I obeyed.

He placed his hands on my stomach, and I jumped again, scared.

"What?" He asked confused.

"You scared me!" I replied.

"Shai5a.. come on.. I'm being serious.." He said, looking serious and hot in the same time, as he knit his eyebrows, trying to focus.

"Okay, okay.." I replied as I floated again, and looked at him sideways.

"Now first of all, you have to relax all your muscles and keep you back straight" He said, he ran his fingers up and down my body, and pointed at area, as he
repeated, "Relax."

How am I supposed to relax I thought to myself, while the only thing I can focus on is his touch.

"Come on Shai5a!" He urged, and I tried my best to do so. "Much better!" He said with an approving smile, that caused the butterflies in my stomach to dance around crazily.

"What's next?" I asked.

"Now show me how you move your hands?" He asked.

I moved them, as if I was swimming.

"Push with more force, and don't move them back this much, just stop here.." He said as he pointed at my waist.

I obeyed, and was rewarded with another breathtaking smile.

"Perfect.." He said, and I blushed.

"It's really hot!" I said, 3ashan arage3.

"Now your legs.." He replied, laughing.
I moved them, and he held me with one hand, while he used the other as a pointer so I would not kick so high in the air. He removed his hand, and concluded that we were almost done.

"Now one more thing, and it's the hardest thing. Show me how you breath while swimming.." He said.

"That.. I'm clueless in" I replied.

"Then we'll keep it for tomorrow.." He said as he carried me into deeper waters.

"Ma a7ib il 3amee8.." I said.

"I'm with you.." He said as he went on effortlessly.

"Stop, please.." I almost begged.

" Ok.. 5ala9.." He said as he stopped, with the water almost touching his chin.

"I can't touch the ground.. please don't leave me here.." I pleaded.

"You are going to race me back.." He replied.

"No no no.. maby" I said as I held on to him tighter.

"Ok them, I'm going to hold you while you swim shwaya.. and then we will race
together.." He said.

"No.." I refused again.

"Then I'm just going to leave you here.." He replied coolly.

"M7ammad.. " I said with tears stinging my eyes.

" I promise you I will hold you until we get to more shallow waters.. I will not let
you drown okay.." He said seriously.

I looked into his eyes and found all the reassurance I needed there. Slowly I let go
and he straightened my back, preparing me for swimming.

"Ready?" He said.

"Don't let me drown please.." I said one more time.

"You're a great swimmer, don't worry you will be fine.." He told me.

"Go.." He said, and he kept his promise by staying next to me and lifting my body
every time it started going lower.

He stopped me mid-way.

"See.. nothing happened.. you were great" He said with a smile. "Race time.." He
added.

" I need a break.." I said, breathing.

"Oh come on.. don't be lazy!!" He said.

"I'm tired!!" I said defensively.

"Fine.." He said, pretending to be bored.

"One, two, three.." I said quickly, and swam as fast as possible.

"Cheater!!" I heard him say, before diving and getting to the shore before me.

"You're too fast it's not even fair!!" I said when I got to him.

"That'll teach you not to cheat again!" He said laughing.

"I'm tired!!" I said as I laid down on the sand.

He laid down beside me, and held my hand. He moved closer to me, and placed his head on my shoulder.

"li3bay b sha3ry.." He said lazily.

I obeyed, and after a couple of minutes I glanced at his face, to see him fast asleep, with a smile across his beautiful face.
